Nouvelle arrestation et mise en accusation concernant l’homicide de Hardeep Singh Nijjar

L’Équipe intégrée des enquêtes sur les homicides (EIEH) a arrêté une quatrième personne, qui a depuis été mise en accusation pour son rôle dans l’homicide de Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

Contexte Le 18 juin 2023, la GRC de Surrey a été informée qu’une fusillade avait eu lieu au temple sikh Guru Nanak, situé au 7050 de la 120e Rue, à Surrey. À leur arrivée sur les lieux, les policiers ont trouvé Hardeep Singh Nijjar, 45 ans, atteint mortellement par balles dans un véhicule. L’EIEH a pris le dossier en main et continue de travailler en étroite collaboration avec un grand nombre d’organismes partenaires de partout au Canada, jusque dans l’est que l’Ontario. Le 3 mai 2024, les enquêteurs de l’EIEH, avec l’aide de la GRC en Colombie-Britannique et en Alberta, et du Service de police d’Edmonton, ont arrêté Karan Brar, 22 ans, Kamalpreet Singh, 22 ans, et Karanpreet Singh, 28 ans, pour le meurtre de Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Les trois personnes, des ressortissants indiens vivant à Edmonton, ont été inculpées de meurtre au premier degré et de complot en vue de commettre un meurtre.

Mise à jour : Le 11 mai 2024, l’EIEH a arrêté une quatrième personne, à savoir Amandeep Singh, 22 ans, pour son rôle dans la mort de M. Nijjar. Amandeep Singh était déjà détenu par le Service de police régional de Peel pour des accusations relatives à des armes à feu sans liens avec la présente affaire. L’EIEH a recueilli suffisamment d’informations et d’éléments de preuve pour que le Service des poursuites de la Colombie-Britannique puisse inculper Amandeep Singh de meurtre au premier degré et de complot en vue de commettre un meurtre. Amandeep Singh est un ressortissant indien qui a résidé à Brampton, Surrey et Abbotsford.

L’EIEH souhaite reconnaître les efforts et le soutien de ses partenaires, en particulier le Service de police d’Abbotsford et la GRC de la Région du Centre, qui ont aidé l’EIEH à atténuer le risque important pour la sécurité publique posé par Amandeep Singh.

« Cette arrestation illustre la nature de notre enquête en cours visant à faire répondre de leurs actes ceux qui ont joué un rôle dans l’homicide de Hardeep Singh Nijjar », déclare le l’officier responsable de l’EIEH, le surintendant Mandeep Mooker.

L’EIEH publie une photo d’Amandeep Singh dans le but de faire progresser l’enquête. Les photos des trois autres accusés et de la Toyota Corolla utilisée dans le cadre de cette affaire ont été diffusées le 3 mai. Another arrest made and charges laid in the Nijjar homicide

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has arrested a fourth individual who has since been charged for his role in the homicide of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

Background: On June 18, 2023, the Surrey RCMP responded to a shooting at the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara at 7050 120 Street, Surrey. Responding police officers found 45-year-old Hardeep Singh Nijjar suffering from fatal gunshot wounds inside a vehicle. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took conduct of the investigation and continued to work closely with numerous partner agencies across Canada, as far east as Ontario. On May 3, 2024, IHIT investigators, with assistance of the BC and Alberta RCMP, and the Edmonton Police Service, arrested 22-year-old Karan Brar, 22-year-old Kamalpreet Singh, and 28-year-old Karanpreet Singh for the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar. All three individuals are Indian nationals living in Edmonton, and have been charged with first degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

Update: On May 11, 2024, IHIT arrested a fourth individual, 22-year-old Amandeep Singh, for his role in the shooting death of Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Amandeep Singh was already in custody for unrelated firearms charges out of Peel Regional Police. IHIT pursued the evidence and gained sufficient information for the BC Prosecution Service to charge Amandeep Singh with first degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Amandeep Singh is an Indian national and resided in Brampton, Surrey, and Abbotsford.

IHIT wishes to recognize the efforts and support of its partners, specifically the Abbotsford Police Department and the Central Region RCMP, in assisting IHIT to mitigate a significant public safety risk related to Amandeep Singh.

This arrest shows the nature of our ongoing investigation to hold responsible those that played a role in the homicide of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, said Superintendent Mandeep Mooker, the Officer in Charge of IHIT.

IHIT is releasing a photo of Amandeep Singh in effort to further advance the investigation. Photos of the other three accused and their associated Toyota Corolla were released on May 3. ਅੱਪਡੇਟ: 11 ਮਈ, 2024 ਨੂੰ, IHIT ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਚੌਥੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ, 22 ਸਾਲਾ ਅਮਨਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਗੋਲੀ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਹਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਿੱਜਰ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸਦੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਲਈ ਗਿਰਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ। ਅਮਨਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਪੀਲ ਰੀਜਨਲ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਗੈਰ-ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ। IHIT ਨੇ ਸਬੂਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਨੁਸਰਣ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਬੀਸੀ ਪ੍ਰੌਸੀਕਿਊਸ਼ਨ ਸਰਵਿਸ ਨੇ ਅਮਨਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ 'ਤੇ ਫਰਸਟ ਡਿਗਰੀ ਕਤਲ ਅਤੇ ਕਤਲ ਦੀ ਸਾਜ਼ਿਸ਼ ਰਚਣ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਲੋੜੀਂਦੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਅਮਨਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਇੱਕ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਬਰੈਂਪਟਨ, ਸਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਐਬਟਸਫੋਰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

IHIT ਅਮਨਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਜਨਤਕ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਖਤਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਘਟਾਉਣ ਲਈ IHIT ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਾਈਵਾਲਾਂ, ਖਾਸ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਐਬਟਸਫੋਰਡ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਅਤੇ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਖੇਤਰ RCMP ਦੇ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਨਤਾ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
