Police in White Rock are always on the lookout for impaired drivers and, as the warmer weather is upon us, police throughout the province will be even more vigilant in their efforts to get impaired drivers off our roadways this long weekend and beyond.

Impairment means more than just alcohol impairment – it also means impairment by illegal drugs or prescription medication. In BC, an average of 65 people are killed every year in collisions where alcohol, drugs or medications* were contributing factors.

White Rock RCMP Constable Chantal Sears reminds the public, We want everyone to enjoy the warm weather and our awesome city by the sea, however, we also want people to make good decisions. If you do consume alcohol or controlled substances please ensure you have a safe ride home planned. Have a designated driver, call a taxi or a rideshare, take transit or walk. Impaired driving is 100% preventable and we have a zero tolerance for it.
