Update: Man charged with multiple offences in shooting

Following exhaustive investigative work, the Chilliwack RCMP has successfully apprehended a suspect linked to the shooting that occurred on February 4, 2024 in downtown Chilliwack. See previous release: 2024-02-05.
On February 7, 2024 Ryan Diablo, 33 years old, was located in Chilliwack and arrested without incident.
Ryan Diablo has been charged with the following offences:
- Discharge firearm with intent
- Aggravated assault
- Failure to Comply with Court Order
Police have determined that the suspect and the victim in this incident were known to each other and there is no indication they have any ties to the Lower Mainland Gang Conflict.
Various specialized sections assisted the Chilliwack RCMP Serious Crime Unit in tirelessly pursuing all leads and meticulously gathering evidence to advance this dynamic investigation, as well as safely taking Mr. Diablo into custody.
